My Morrin: The Hanging of William Suitor

In this My Morrin event, Steven L. Cameron tells the story of a prisoner who was hanged above the Morrin Centre’s entrance. William Suitor was executed in 1834 for murder. His father and brother were sent to Van Diemen’s Land, Tasmania and, to this day, descendants contact Steve to learn about Suitor’s story.
Steven L. Cameron is a former VP of the Literary & Historical Society of Quebec & Co-Founder of Coirneal Cealteach (an Irish Heritage group). He has a business degree from the University of Concordia that allowed him to work in senior management positions with Imperial Oil, Alcan, Canada Post Corporation and Societe de Transport de Quebec. He is the author of 3 non-fiction works about the stories of the ancestor-settlers. He lives in Tir-Na-N’Og, in Ste. Agathe de Lotbiniere, where he pursues his research.
