Demystifying Arabic Music: Origins, foundation and instruments
This talk focuses on Arabic music, its origins, foundation, and instruments through the history as well as the Arab world, and demystifies Arabic music and its different styles and trends from the 5th century to the modern day. Several Arabic music styles will be presented with videos that will assist in appreciating its intricacies.
As a great connoisseur of Arabic music, presenter Aziz Daouni has provided cultural commentary on Radio Centre-Ville. His talk “Demystifying Arabic Music” has also been presented in academic settings, notably at UQAM.
This project is made possible thanks to the support of the Government of Canada and Québecor.
