This fall, the Morrin Centre invites you to explore over 300 years of history with On the Cobblestones–The Morrin Centre and its Surroundings, Past and Present. Presented as part of the 40th anniversary of Old Quebec’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this series of talks highlights the building’s remarkable past, its role in the community, and the evolution of the surrounding neighbourhood.

Step behind the scenes of the Morrin Centre’s restoration! Architect Michel Boudreau will present L’architecture du Morrin Centre et sa restauration, 2002-2011. Learn how this heritage building was preserved and transformed to serve today’s community.
Presenter Biography
Michel Boudreau was director-architect for the Bourdreau Fortier Huots Architectes firm from its foundation to September 2017, when BFH merged with STGM. Early in 2024, Michel left STGM to continue his professional endeavours independently. During his career, he has specialized in restoration of heritage buildings and locations with heritage or historic aspects. Through the many projects he participated in, he developed a personalized approach and gained many contacts within this domain in the Ministère de la culture, Parcs Canada, the Federal Heritage Buildings Review OfficeBureau d’examen des édifices patrimoniaux du Fédéral, the Commission des Biens Culturels, and in many boards of directors dedicated to safekeeping heritage, as his expertise and work quality were recognized.
Mr. Boudreau has completed many projects with diverse scopes that had multidisciplinary teams and, occasionally, very tight schedules. These teams sometimes included such varied professions as ethnologists, archeologists, historians, architecture historians, colour and textile specialists, scenographers, professional artists, curators, museologists, engineers from all disciplines, and landscapers.
