Pixels & PagesBook Club
Pixels & Pages is the Morrin Centre’s hybrid book club. Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month, and members can participate online or in person.
This month, we’ll be discussing A Minor Chorus by Billy-Ray Belcourt.
An unnamed queer Indigenous graduate student leaves his thesis behind to write an autobiography of his rural hometown in northern Alberta. Belcourt’s latest work, A Minor Chorus (2022), explores the boundaries of his Cree identity from a community perspective. This work reimagines not only what a novel looks like, but also the very foundations of one’s mooring within an individualistic, heteronormative and colonial society.
The book club is currently full, but there are drop-in spots available at each meeting. Please email library@morrin.org to reserve a spot or get on the waiting list.
This book club is reserved for Morrin Centre members.
Pixels & Pages is presented in partnership with La Maison Anglaise
