Come uncover the Hero in You with our fun program all about fictional and real-life heroes!
This Saturday, we will be reading Even Superheros have bad days. Come join us to read a picture book about how Superheros can also have some problems, but they always find a way to resolve them without becoming Supervillains!
This introductory workshop is an opportunity to engage and experiment with performance art in a stress-free and welcoming context. You will get to experience a short performance by the presenters and learn about the history of performance as well as of various performance practices, in addition to elaborating and taking part in performances of your own. All materials will be provided. The event will last three hours and will include a short break. Presenters Darwin Drolet is a tour guide at the Morrin Centre and has studied visual arts at Université Laval. They write poetry and have a diverse artistic practice that includes watercolour, collage, sculpture, and drawing. Luc Murray Mercier is a library assistant at the Morrin Centre, a graduate student in English literature at Université Laval and an artist whose practice ranges from performance to painting by way of sound and installation art, dance, and writing.
This Saturday, we will be reading There was a party for Langston - King O' Letters. Come join us to read a picture book about the word-making man Langston Hughes and celebrate his enormous contribution to American Literature!
Join us for an evening of historical dances! In this casual workshop, you will be able to learn two—perhaps three, if everyone learns very quickly!—historical dances. Neither dance partner nor prior experience necessary. Bring your water bottle and comfortable shoes!
Build mini bark canoes and test them out on troubled waters!
