Week 4 Themes
\n<\/strong>Will to nothingness; beauty and excitement; Schopenhauer; intellectualism and asceticism; the ascetic ideal\u2019s will to power; origins of reason and meaning; disguise of reason; priestly opponent; instincts of asceticism; perspectivity (many eyes); sickness and health; consolation; the denial of life; rituals and mechanical activity; guilt and sin; suffering and meaning; science and knowing: the denial of all value; questioning truth and value; truth and the death of god; will to truth and salvation; the highest values overcome themselves.<\/p>\n

The Facilitator
\n<\/strong>Greg Campbell<\/strong> trained as a pharmacist before returning to college to study philosophy and history of ideas. Having completed a Masters degree at Essex University in the UK and obtained his doctorate in philosophy from University College Dublin in Ireland, he undertook a post-doctorate at Columbia University, New York (aesthetics and politics in Adorno). During his studies, Greg continued to work part-time as a pharmacist. In addition to teaching a humanities course at Wilbur Smith College, Greg was also a stay-at-home dad for a while after moving to Chicago in 2014. Since moving to Quebec City in 2020, Greg has continued to work in the education sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
