The Morrin Centre once again joins forces with the Orchestre symphonique de Qu\u00e9bec to present a notewordy<\/em> concert. Tune in to listen to readings by winners and nominee from the Quebec Writers\u2019 Federation Ian Ferrier Spoken Word Prize, accompanied by music chosen and performed by musicians from the Orchestre symphonique de Qu\u00e9bec which captures the spirit of their works.<\/p>\n

Caitlin Murphy<\/strong> (she\/her) is an award-winning writer, director and dramaturg based in Montr\u00e9al. She has performed in one-woman shows, stand-up and sketch comedy, as well as a web-series she created called Mothers Try<\/em>. She previously served as Artistic Associate at the Segal Centre, where she directed A Doll\u2019s House<\/em>, Part 2<\/em> and Small Mouth Sounds<\/em>, the latter which won her the Montr\u00e9al English Theatre Award for Outstanding Direction. In addition to winning this year\u2019s QWF Ian Ferrier Spoken Word Prize, she was also a finalist last year. Caitlin recently finished writing a book of essays called Rational Tantrums: 52 Essays on Mothering<\/em>, and she is currently creating a podcast about modern malaise called You May Be Feeling<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Ra\u00efssa Simone<\/strong> (she\/her) is a multi-disciplinary artist and writer based in Tiohti\u00e0:ke (Montreal).<\/p>\n

She has competed at numerous national poetry slams and been invited to perform at multiple spoken word shows including the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word, Toronto International Poetry Slam, Hillside Festival, and When Sisters Speak<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Deb Vanslet <\/strong>(she\/her) is a storyteller, writer and media artist. Her independent videos, including Sick World<\/em>, Weather Permitting, <\/em>and Rules of the Road, <\/em>explore storytelling, performance, and dance. For sixteen years Deb produced and hosted Dykes on Mykes<\/em>, at CKUT 90.3 FM. Deb is a producer, as well as a storyteller, at Confabulation<\/em>, Montreal\u2019s monthly live storytelling show. She also produces and hosts the Confabulation podcast. She is the production coordinator at Ada-X, a feminist artist-run centre.<\/em> In 2015, s<\/em>he won the 3Macs carte blanche <\/em>QWF prize for her short story Self-Serve, <\/em>and Ghost Station was published <\/em>in the Queer Perspectives edition of The Malahat Review<\/em>. Deb is a winner of the 2023 QWF Ian Ferrier Spoken Word prize.<\/p>\n
