We will be celebrating the launch of Loch Baillie\u2019s debut chapbook Citronella<\/em>. Loch will be joined by Vanessa Bell and Sierra Duffey as well as other local poets for a reading. An open mic will follow: all are welcome!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Originally from Worcester, Massachusetts,\u00a0Loch\u00a0Baillie<\/strong> is a poet and writer based in L\u00e9vis. In 2023, he was mentored by ReLit Award-winning poet Simina Banu as part of the Quebec Writers\u2019 Federation mentorship program.\u00a0Loch\u2019s writing has appeared in various magazines, including\u00a0pixie, Maybe Magazine<\/em>, Society Pages<\/em>,\u00a0yolk literary<\/em>, and\u00a0Maclean\u2019s<\/em>.\u00a0Loch\u2019s\u00a0debut poetry chapbook\u00a0Citronella<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>was published by Anstruther Press on February 1, 2024. When he is not writing,\u00a0Loch\u00a0can be found teaching English, reading a book, or submerged in a body of water. Find him online\u00a0@lochbaillie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Poet, performer, artist, curator and literary activist Vanessa Bell<\/strong> is co-director of CONTOURS and director of the poetry collection at \u00c9ditions du Quartz. She is the author of two collections, an anthology on women\u2019s poetry in Quebec and an essay on cold-water swimming. Her vivid, trenchant writing and commitment have earned her several grants and awards in Quebec and abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sierra Duffey<\/strong> is a queer writer and photographer in Montreal, Quebec. Through sassy poetry and colourful photographs, Sierra explores topics such as psychology, relationships, cults, and nature. Sierra strives to create connection through art and writing, which she views as a spiritual practice and a form of community-building. She is the author of\u00a0Lemon Drop Lyrics\u00a0<\/em>a zesty chapbook with Montreal’s Cactus Press. Her work has also been published in\u00a0PACE Magazine<\/em>, Lantern Magazin<\/em>e,<\/em>\u00a0flo.<\/em>\u00a0and displayed at the School of Photographic Arts Ottawa (SPAO) and the Morrin Centre of Qu\u00e9bec.<\/span><\/p>\n
