Our\u00a0sixth annual Literary Feast<\/strong> fundraiser will\u00a0be held at the Morrin Centre on Thursday, October 16, 2014. The evening will start with a cocktail at 5:30 p.m. in one of Canada\u2019s most beautiful libraries, followed by dinner in the historic College Hall at 6:30 p.m., catered by Le Saint-Amour restaurant,\u00a0inspired by the meals served during 1864’s\u00a0Quebec Conference on the way\u00a0to Confederation.<\/p>\n

This year, we are honoured to welcome two distinguished guest speakers. Our keynote speaker is\u00a0Christopher Moore<\/strong>, the Governor-General\u2019s-Award-winning author of “1867: How the Fathers Made a Deal”\u00a0and other works. His speech,\u00a0\u201cThree Weeks in October: When Quebec City invented Canada,\u201d\u00a0will explore the personalities, parties, and politics of the constitutional conference held at Quebec City exactly 150 years ago, when the constitutional arrangements by which we still live were debated and drafted.<\/p>\n

The evening’s honorary chair, David F. Blair<\/strong>, is a Partner in McCarthy Tetrault\u2019s Business Law Group, where he focuses his practice on transportation law. He\u00a0was president of the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec from 1999 to 2012.\u00a0In December 2013, Mr. Blair was awarded the Order of Canada.<\/p>\n

A limited number of tickets <\/strong>for this black-tie (optional) event are available for $225 per person. You may reserve your ticket(s) by calling Program and Communications Director\u00a0Hoffman Wolff at 418-694-9147, extension 223, or e-mailing hoffmanwolff@morrin.org.<\/p>\n

As part of the Literary Feast, there will also be a silent auction<\/strong>.
