This hour-and-a-half activity will introduce children ages 8 to 12 to block coding using the Scratch MIT online platform. The first 30 minutes of the activity will provide an overview of the basics of coding with Scratch. Then, the Education Coordinator will show participants how they can code different characters to create a story of their own design.
We recommend participants create a Scratch MIT account before this event. This will take about 5 to 10 minutes depending on their computer skills, and is completely free. Children who create an account will be able to save their work and continue working on their projects any time they want. You can create an account here: https://scratch.mit.edu/
Register your child for this free event below. The Zoom link will be sent in the Eventbrite registration confirmation message as well as on the morning of the event.
