On Saturday, August 22nd, the Morrin Centre YouTube channel will reveal, as a premiere, a 45 minutes concert with the band Alexandra Lost, followed by a short video by multidisciplinary artist Daniel L. Moisan.
7:00 p.m.: Concert with Alexandra Lost
|Alexandra Lost is the brainchild of Jane Ehrhardt and Simon Paradis, two veterans of the Quebec City music scene armed with vintage synthesizers and well-crafted verse. Their debut album, released this past spring with Pantoum Records, sees them exploring the outer boundaries of the singer-songwriter genre, while managing to be both danceable and thought-provoking. The band’s live performances have been described as both “imposing” and “magnetic”.|
7:45 p.m.: Presentation of Daniel L. Moisan [Watch the presentation]
With many trips to Europe and America, Daniel L. Moisan has developed a passion for photography. Whether advertising or simply capturing the moment, spaces, objects and people fascinate this multidisciplinary artist who pursues his search for the visual through the shutter of a Reflex Digital camera or simply that of his laptop.
Having studied college in visual arts, before completing his bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Daniel L. Moisan has a good command of 2D and 3D spaces. In 2019, he returned to painting and enjoyed immediate success, nine of his works finding takers in just two months. Despite his positions on various social and political causes and issues, opinions take a pause on the paintings of Moisan. The aesthetics, the arrangement of colors and above all, a work made to harmoniously inhabit your living space, are essentially what guides his spatulas and brushes.
