So the Story Goes is a series of activities presenting different forms of storytelling, from picture books to music and Indigenous storytelling. This project will explore different forms of storytelling important to the Quebec Anglophone community and will allow participants to experiment with many ways to tell stories.

This activity will include a short presentation by a singer and musician, followed by a workshop during which the guest will present the basis of her art and will guide the participants in applying their new knowledge in a practical way.

 

Guest – Tess Leblanc

Originally from Moncton, Tess Leblanc has a very full repertoire of traditional songs. And this, with songs in English, French and even Gaelic. Student in ethnology, she made numerous collections and research with singers and singers of the Maritimes. Her master’s subject was the fabulous Acadian singer Allan Kelly.

She produced two CDs at the turn of the century. She has performed at numerous festivals across Canada, from Vancouver to Caraquet. She also went to festivals in Quebec. Among his many projects is a play about the adventures of the first Scottish to arrive in the Eastern Townships.
