On-site Programmes
In addition to our popular traditional tour, the Morrin Centre has an exciting range of on-site activities to offer. These are suitable for students of all levels from Elementary School to University in both English and French. Meet the English-speaking community, sift through old books, hear speeches from the gallows, or learn about tea and transcontinental trade. Consult our brochure (pdf format) to find out more about these different programmes. Contact us if you would like to receive a colour copy of this brochure.
Website Programme: Eclectica
Let Barbara Beardsley guide you through another dimension. Our virtual exhibit is an interactive and fun way to access nineteenth-century history. Students are given a unique opportunity to work with a variety of primary sources, including old periodicals published by the LHSQ. Our aim is not only to foster an understanding of the past but also to help students develop key analytical skills.
Our downloadable thematic lesson plans related to the virtual exhibit are meant for high school (sec. 4 and 5, grades 10-12) and CEGEP levels. Themes addressed include:
- Introduction to Eclectica
- The White Man's Burden
- Canadian Nationalism in the Nineteenth Century
- The Evolution of Science and Medicine
