The Morrin Centre Book Club offers participants an opportunity to discuss a selection of books in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. During our meetings we share our impressions, bring up questions about challenging passages, and discuss themes related to the book scheduled for a specific evening. One of the recurring themes in our choice of books has been the search for
identity.
The Book Club tends to focus in on Canadian writers or texts that have a Canadian connection.
However, there are exceptions. For example, on December 4, 2012, we will be discussing The Sense of Ending by well-known British writer Julian Barnes. In addition, we sometimes do a book in French or a translation of a French book but the discussion takes place in English.
The meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month at the Morrin Centre from 6-8 pm.
We are looking forward to reading and reflecting with you on the books chosen for the 2012-2013 season. New members are welcome.
