A renowned historian and author, Professor Fischer won the Pulitzer Prize in History for Washington’s Crossing in 2004 and was recognized for his significant contributions to the arts and literature when named member of France’s L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2009. He is the author of many bestselling books, notably Champlain’s Dream (2008), a biography of the adventurer who sailed up the St. Lawrence and founded Quebec City over 400 years ago.
