International Colloquium: “Ambiguous Encounters: Anglophone-Francophone Relations in Quebec, from the Conquest to the Quiet Revolution”
Many Canadians see relations between Quebec’s Anglophones and Francophones since the Conquest as having been particularly antagonistic. However, while the conflictual elements of the relationship are undeniable, recent research has shown that the issue is far more complex than one might think, and needs to be re-examined from multiple perspectives. The Centre interuniversitaire d’études québécoises (CIEQ), the Morrin Centre and the Quebec English-Speaking Communities Research Network (QUESCREN/RRCQEA) invite researchers, students and the general public to an international colloquium on the subject. At the event, 24 experts from six different fields will present their findings.
